This amazing school in Nottingham is looking for an ambitious Chemistry or Physics graduate who has achieved a 2:2 or higher in a Chemistry based degree. Ideally this role would suit somebody who wants to gain paid experience prior to starting a teacher training course in September 2018. The school has high expectations and excellent results within the science department, consistently achieving good results year on year.

This role as a Science Teaching Assistant will enable you to work initially with small groups and on a one to one basis supporting learners in their science education. This could mean working with children on the C/D border line or even with those who are expecting to gain an A to A* grade. The Head of Science leads a successful department and is looking for an ambitious graduate to join their supportive science department in September. The Head of Science will be your mentor throughout your time at the school and will allow you to access plenty of training in order to allow you to develop as a teaching assistant who aspires to become a teacher in the future.

This Chemistry/Physics Academic mentor role involves you assisting and supporting in the teaching of the school's high-achieving Science Department. As your confidence grows you will become more involved in the planning and teaching process; working closely with an experienced department of Science teachers, benefitting from the guidance of Science leaders and play an active part in producing new learning opportunities for pupils.

If you are an aspiring teacher with a science degree and would like to gain a full year's worth of experience before exploring the possibility of training with them to become a Science teacher, then apply for this role today!
