Do you enjoy tackling technically complex machine tool engineering equipment problems and solving them?

With excellent customer interaction skills you’ll excel at onsite training, query handling both in person and remotely, maintenance and repair, thus seeing a happy client when their machinery is working again?

This home-based opportunity with UK / European travel is for a market leading, global engineering business who design and manufacture a wide range of machine tools, machinery and products for high tech specialist welding, marking and bonding equipment. As the Field Service Engineer you’ll cover the UK predominantly and as required, Northern Europe. You will be someone who can self-manage your time and appointments, work independently and responsible for providing an outstanding service to customers.

What you will be doing:

·You will be installing, aligning, repairing, servicing and calibrating specialist engineering manufacturing equipment e.g. resistance welding, laser welding and laser marking workstations with PLC and motion control hardware and software

·Provide customers with technical support both from your office by phone, email, internet, Skype etc. as well as face to face on site

·Train customers how to use and maintain the products and systems including start-ups, eliminate incidents and get the best out of the equipment

Essential skills and qualities

·Engineering qualified (electrical, mechanical, maintenance, multi-skilled, materials, electronics, physics or a related discipline) with a strong understanding of the correlation between electronics and mechanics with good electrical and mechanical problem solving experience

·Industrial control equipment software programming skills with proven programming experience

·Strong customer service ethos with high standards and values and able to demonstrate outstanding communication, interpersonal skills and time management / self-organisation abilities

·A team player who can build good working relationships across all levels of an organisation both internally and with customers

·Central UK based and able to travel significantly and is entitled to work within Northern Europe. Full driving licence required

Desirable skills and qualities

·Manufacturing, laser, materials processing and/or resistance welding background or experience

·Experience in industrial control equipment and ideally motion control with M and G codes

·Other European languages. Customer training in capital equipment use.
