Kings Lodge is a service that provides specialist care for people with complex needs in beautiful rural residential settings under the guidance of some of the leading neurological experts in the UK within a unique and comprehensive specialist nursing teams.


We are looking for a Senior Staff Nurse who will provide support to members of the team and carry responsibility for the assessment of care needs, the development, implementation and evaluation of programme of care and setting standards in order to meet the quality agenda set out by the organisation.


To provide an expert level of professional practice within a registered nursing home, and to be responsible for the management of a nursing team, providing advice, information and support. To actively support the Clinical Nurse Lead, assisting in the safe, effective and efficient management of the service and deputising in their absence.


To assume responsibility for undertaking tasks delegated by Clinical Nurse Lead including mentoring roles, auditing and clinical governance. To promote an environment that is conducive to learning, supporting and participating in the supervision/teaching of the more junior and/or new staff, both nursing and other members of the multidisciplinary team.


Responsibilities and Duties



To manage and oversee a complex care environment taking continued responsibility for leadership and the safe management of the clinical area.
To provide clinical leadership within defined areas by acting as a positive role model, who practices evidence-based care, to ensure high standards of clinical care.
Take an effective role in staff management, including, recruitment and retention, ensuring all staff receive the necessary training and professional development. Managing rostering, holiday and sickness ensuring that the wards are always appropriately staffed.
Work collaboratively with the Clinical Nurse Lead to implement and achieve the service short and long-term goals which are aligned with the organisational vision/mission and the nursing strategy.
