Your New Job:

The Global Infrastructure Engineer provides support to a global matrix tower lead and will be a secondary backup for one or more other matrix towers.

  • Supports the global matrix lead in the assessment of current services and the development of the annual maintenance program.
  • Provides deep, service and product specific knowledge in their assigned service areas for project delivery, problem management and issue resolution.
  • Develops services and product specific skills in their assigned service teams.
  • Oversees and reports on the demand and capacity management of enterprise-wide IT systems.
  • Configures,and maintains the health of various infrastructure systems.
  • Responsible for the day to day sustaining tasks for the global enterprise.
  • Develops,maintains,and executes documentation, policies, and procedures.
  • Provides project management resource on assigned projects.
  • Provides Tier 3 highest level internal escalation support for all systems and platforms.
  • Analyzes and maintains periodic service performance data to ensure optimal usage of the resources available.
  • Leads and is responsible for the completion of tasks, change controls, and responses to escalations and alerts for other engineers.
  • Adherence to published Project Management Policies & Procedures (PMI)
  • Provides leadership to ensure that system security issues are addressed effectively within the FTI enterprise environment.
  • Prepares long and short term plans for systems maintenance, production activities, and upgrades as necessary for system health.
  • Responsible for the definition and maintenance of alert response procedures to include monitoring, alerting, troubleshooting, resolution and escalation of issues to the appropriate technical resources.
  • Executes Change Controls as required to support trouble ticket resolution, planned maintenance and to assist other engineers.
  • Take on responsibilities as a backup or alternate for other IT staff.
  • Cover and resolve any outstanding Service Desk related issues in an effort to help all IT members resolve tickets as quickly and efficiently as possible.
  • Periodic travel required, sometimes with little notice.
  • Responsible for the execution and maintenance of:
  • Operational Recurring Tasks – Daily, weekly, monthly, yearly
  • Use and compliance with our clients Change Management Control Process
  • Incident & Problem Reporting and Tracking
  • Use and compliance with the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) standards when developing solutions
  • Daily time entry to record billable and non-billable time.
  • As developed and coordinated upon request by supervisor.
  • Support other IT staff with open and unresolved issues.
  • Role may require out of hours work as required.
  • Take on responsibilities as a backup or alternate for other IT staff.
  • Physical labour from time to time, which may include moving equipment, furniture, etc.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

  • Technology related Bachelor’s degree or equivalent job experience.
  • ITILv3 Foundation certification.
  • VCP certification.
  • CCA certification.
  • MCSE or MCITP certification.
  • Experience in the design and operation of a large, global enterprise environment.
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows Server 2008, 2012 and 2016 deployment, configuration and troubleshooting in an enterprise environment.
  • Experience managing a VMware vSphere.
  • Experience managing a Citrix environment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, FTP, Print Services and security certificates.
  • Demonstrable experience with core Microsoft technologies: MS Windows Server, MS Clustering Services, MS Exchange, and MS SQL Server.
  • Experience working with NAS and SAN storage infrastructures in an enterprise environment.
  • Knowledge of Citrix XenApp, Presentation Server, Web Interface and Citrix Secure Gateway administration desired.
  • Working experience of Azure.
  • Working experience of O365.
  • Experience of participating on technical projects, adhering to PMI or Prince2 methodologies.
