The Company
Our client designs functional and sustainable product for those that share a love of the sea. They are looking for an experienced Garment Technologist to join their Product Development Team based in Cornwall.

Garment Technologist - The Role:

  • Maintaining and developing the fit of all their products, supporting the product development cycle from design handover through to production and delivery. Ensuring that the range commerciality and innovation are maximized, within required timelines and budget and maintain the consistency of the brand.
  • Own the development process of product, from design handover, garment spec creation, fit, branding and component development, ensuring the highest level of quality and consistency, in line with brand direction
  • Prepare, book and manage live on body fit meetings alongside design and buying team
  • Ensure all grade rules and BOM’s are correct for production in line with critical path timelines
  • Create and maintain the critical path & production timescales, to achieve set launch dates and key trading activity
  • Work closely with the Design and Buying team to deliver continued improvement of product choice, desirability & margin throughout the range
  • Maintain product sample process, ensuring that proto, marketing and salesman samples are available for photo shoots, fit reviews and key range sign offs
  • Liaise with Supply chain, Warehouse and Finance regarding all product which fails to meet the clients quality standards
  • Support the Product Development manager and Product Director to provide clear and timely overviews of Product Development activities by category for:
    • Sample lead-times
    • Fit and quality standards
    • Supplier performance
    • Intake margin
    • Launch availability

Garment Technologist - The Candidate:

  • 3+ years working as a garment tech within a Product Development and Design environment, preferably for a Brand
  • Good knowledge of pattern and garment construction across Men’s and Women’s wear, multiple categories including true knit, woven and denim along with industry process and know how
  • Complete understanding of the development cycle and supply chain
  • Organised and measured approach to daily tasks
  • Thoroughness and attention to detail
  • Good problem solving & influencing skills
  • Fully competent in use of Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Illustrator
  • Able to travel for UK and overseas trips
  • Resourceful, creative and flexible; thrives on positive change

Garment Technologist - The Package:
- Salary will be competitive dependent upon experience
