The Semi Senior Accountant job is suitable for an ACCA/ACA newly qualified accountant with several years' experience working in a public practice accountancy firm, but would equally suit a QBE who enjoys client contact and relationship management. It presents an unusual opportunity to join a successful practice with an excellent reputation.
This superb Hertfordshire based accountancy firm has a capability spanning a wide range of sectors. The services are geared towards providing not only Accountancy and Taxation services but a consultancy based service to support Businesses Owners through the lifecycle of their business. It would therefore provide a great next step for a Newly Qualified Accountant looking to gain a broad based commercial understanding across a range of Industry Sectors.
This Semi Senior Accountant Job will involve managing a small portfolio of clients, and therefore will require lots of client contact. You will also need to manage 2 direct reports and review their work. The typical clients you will be managing will be small Limited companies with turnover of up to £2 million, as well as some Sole Traders and Partnerships. You will also assist the Partners on larger scale jobs and work with clients which are SME's with turnover of circa 3-5 million.
The main responsibilities for this Semi Senior Accountant job include:
- Accounts preparation for Limited companies, Sole traders and Partnerships
- Overseeing the work of more junior members of staff
- Managing a portfolio of clients
- Completion of tax returns, both personal and corporation
- Liaising with clients and attending meetings to assess client needs
*There is no Audit requirement in this role
The perfect Semi Senior Accountant will have a minimum of 4 years' experience of working within a busy public practice accountancy firm. Effective communication and interpersonal skills are important for this role as the successful Semi Senior Accountant will be working in a client facing role. You must be well presented and able to work well within a team as well as lead others.
