Support Worker - Learning Disabilities - Epsom
We are looking for Support Workers to work in a residential setting that supports adults with complex Learning Difficulties, challenging behaviour and Autism based in Epsom.Salary for days - £17,661.97 per annum/ £8.93 per hour(Additional overtime is also available) based on 38 hours a weekShifts - Long days (7:30-22:00) on a 1 day on, 2 days off rolling rota.The organisation:A long-established provider of quality education and care services to children and young adults. The company ethos is very much about promotion of independence, building on confidence and helping with gaining access to the community with service users' needs at the forefront of their mind.Responsibilities:To provide residents with a care and support service which is appropriate to their individual needs, enabling them to live as independently as possible within the home and in the community.To maintain appropriate records and participate in the running of the home.Contribute to the development of the residents with both practical and emotional support, to enable them to participate in the planning and decision making of the home, e.g. domestic and housekeeping services, leisure activities etc.Maintain and promote a high quality, homely lifestyle within the community, promoting needs, rights, privacy, fulfilment, choice, dignity and confidentiality at all times.Participate in and help deliver a wide range of innovative social and recreational events both within and outside the home, including residents' holidays and outings.Prepare and assist residents in preparing meals on a daily basis in accordance with good health and hygiene standards.Requirements:Experience with Learning Disabilities, Autism and Challenging Behaviour is desirable however not essential as training will be givenCompassionate and confident about the role is a must!Able to work weekdays and weekends on the following shifts 7.00am - 2200 - Essential (rolling rota and able to ideally work every other weekend)Passionate about supporting Young People with Learning Disabilities / Autism Referral SchemeAt Vetro Recruitment we recognise that exceptional people always know other exceptional people, so why not earn £50 to £250 for referring them to Vetro Recruitment.
