We have exciting opportunities for an External Reporting Senior Finance Manager, based in London. We have 2 permanent and 2 Fixed Term Contract positions.


The External Reporting team is responsible for the deliverable of Group external and regulatory reporting

Role Purpose

Responsible for strong delivery of all required Group reporting in compliance with all relevant regulation supported by results messaging and insights for external purposes, for Plc Audit Committee and Board and other relevant internal committees.

You will not have any direct reports but Close interaction and engagement with the Finance Operations team to ensure timely and high quality delivery. You’ll be working at pace to manage deadlines and standards acting as first point of contact for with the Markets and review and challenge of results and messaging. You will need to negotiate and influence across multiple stakeholders, collaboration within the team and across the wider finance team, therefore strong communication skills are needed as a result.

You're a good problem solver, looking forward and anticipating problems and planning to mitigate them in advance. Continuous operational improvement of process and external reporting is key to your role whilst also to challenge the status quo to achieve process efficiency as well as organizational efficiency.

Key aspects of role

• Top Down Review and Challenge of Business Unit Results and Messaging to ensure complete and accurate

• Preparation of the Group results insight and messaging to explain the results both internally and externally

• Work closely with the Finance Technical team to ensure compliance with accounting policy on all relevant basis

• Preparing reporting to Group Audit Committee to demonstrate compliance with relevant accounting, company and regulatory guidelines

• Work closely with FP&A to understand and message the results consistently across Forecast and Actuals and provide FP&A support to understand the impact of key business decisions on actuals

• Work closely with Investor Relations to support external messaging and slide presentations (including for any planned investor days)

• Liaison with all other relevant stakeholders (Tax, Treasury, Media and Communications, M&A, Company secretarial, BU’s,

• What are the key decisions taken - ensuring delivery of their work and tasks, including first point of contact for issues and resolving these where appropriate


o Strong experience in financial services plc financial reporting

o Strong financial/regulatory reporting and accounting skills

o Qualified accountant: Considerable PQE experience

o Strong stakeholder management is essential

o Verbal and presentational skills and ability to present complex issues simply is essential

o Excellent communication skills – Ability to communicate across all levels and across different geographies
