Paramedics required for custody work within Greater Manchester Forensic Custody Paramedic Practitioner Manchester £22.00-£38.00 per hour Hays are currently looking for nurses to work between custody suites within the Manchester and Greater Manchester area as a Forensic Custody Paramedic Practitioner. The role will require you to provide assessments and care for detainees, victims and staff in the Police Custody Suites and Force area. You will primarily be based at 1 of the sites and complete 12 hour shifts however you will be required to be flexible to travel between sites within the area if required. Other aspects of the role will require you to: - Provide advice and support to custody officers in determining the health care needs of detainees and the priorities of care. Seek telephone advice and refer cases to the doctor or Consultant FME when required. - Work with other members of the team to ensure that the service is provided at all times. - Develop positive working relationships with the Consultant FMEs and doctors, custody staff, police officers, local health organisations, drug referral workers, and other organisations, which can contribute to the excellence of the service. - Keep accurate, complete and contemporaneous notes of work carried out, including the recording of injuries. Ensure all activities are logged using the systems in use. - Make use of supervision opportunities to evaluate your own work and development. - Participate in the collection of data for service audits and other mechanisms for achieving continuous service improvement. We are looking for registered paramedics with experience in A&E, community, acute or urgent care. Working within a custody environment is also desirable but not essential. You must hold a full UK driving licence and be registered with the HCPC. This role is an temporary agency post, full training is provided for successful candidates. You will also be required to undertake a full police vetting process and appropriate background checks.
