Location: Wellingborough NN9
Salary: £21,000- £22,500 Depending on experience
Hours of work: Full time - 40 Hrs between 7.30am-6pm (Maternity cover min 12 months)

About the company
Registered for 60 children, currently OFSTED Good (April 2017).
A capable Manager is required to oversee the daily running of a busy nursery.
Our client currently have 70 children on roll and they can take 60 children on any one day. There is a staff team of 14 staff who hold qualifications from Level 3 to Level 5.

The Nursery Manager role

- To share in the responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children at the nursery
- To provide effective daily management and leadership of the nursery, in accordance with all relevant legislation, local authority and Ofsted requirements.
- To ensure the provision is of its highest quality, providing a safe stimulated and caring environment for children attending the nursery.
- To ensure that all agreed quality and safety standards are maintained in the nursery at all times
- Responsible of recruitment and overall management of all childcare and other staff
- To liaise closely with parents/carers to ensure high levels of involvement and customer satisfaction at all times.

Duties and responsibilities

- Develop all relevant policies and procedures for the nursery
- Implement the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum into the nursery
- Market the nursery to prospective parents, together with the nursery Director
- Mentor staff to ensure the policies and values of the nursery are fully understood and implemented
- Provide high quality care and activities for children which recognise both individual and group requirements
- Support all staff in their job roles and take lead and responsibility in organising and maintaining the nursery rooms
- Work alongside parents and other family members and make them feel welcome
- To be involved in out of work activities e.g. staff training courses
- Interact and support children to foster enthusiasm for learning
- Encourage other practitioners to have high expectations of all children
- Provide support to students completing placements and training within the setting
- Completion of all relevant paperwork and keep these up to date
- Plan, manage and implement supervision and annual appraisals.
- Ensure the highest standard of safety and security at the setting
- Monitor, identify and evaluate areas of improvement
- Deliver childcare in a way that meets parents` needs and work in partnership with them providing high levels of customer care at all times
- Work alongside the Directors and other staff to ensure children are safe and happy whilst at First Steps Nursery

The ideal Nursery Manager will need the following Qualification and Experience:
Minimum Level 3 qualified. The successful applicant will desirably have their Designated Safeguarding Lead training, Paediatric First Aid, Level 2 Food Safety and Health and Safety training. If not we can provide the necessary training.
At least 2 years` experience as a Manager of a Good rated nursery. They will also consider strong assistant managers wanting to step up and take a lead role within a setting.
