My client a privately owned company distributing a range of engineering solutions from some of industry’s leading brands and operating across the UK is looking for a Field Sales Engineer to cover the Midlands, West and Southwest of England Wales.
The products are sold into a broad cross section of industries and include sectors as diverse as electronics, medical, commercial vehicles, white goods, metal fabrication, road and rail infrastructure, plastic/composite fabrication, leisure craft, vehicle conversions and many more.
The Technical Sales Engineers will have plenty of scope to generate new accounts as well as cross-selling into existing accounts by using their engineering and communication skills to take on projects at all stages of development from early design through to sample build and full production.

The Job-This is a hybrid role that will draw on your background in both New Business sales and Account Management. You will have a remit to sell products into all types of Industrial manufacturing clients across the Midlands, West and Southwest of England Wales. In this technical sales role you will be expected to have an understanding of manufacturing and engineering processes; and be technically minded in order to add value to the client. You will be free to plan your working week as you need, but some overnight stays may well be required on occasions and generally 1-2 days every other week. Assistance in the setting up and manning of adhoc trade exhibitions and some other marketing work will also be a feature of the work.
The successful applicant-In order to be considered for this position must have a demonstrable track record of sales in fastenings, and a background of working in manufactured engineering products. You will need to be a motivated self-starter with organised and flexible approach, able to work largely unsupervised. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential as is a good grasp of maths and engineering terminology. Familiarity with the Microsoft Office suite is essential (Word and Excel) and training will be provided on the companies ERP/CMS system which you will need to use on a daily basis. The applicant should ideally be centrally located with easy access to the major arterial routes. As some equipment will be required for demonstrations, you will have access to a garage or other lock up and dry storage facility. A small space only is required.
Education will ideally be to degree standard or relevant work experience.
What's on Offer? The successful candidate can expect a basic salary of between 35k - 40k + performance bonus (OTE in excess of 50,000 pa) + fully expensed company car, laptop, phone, and all equipment, contributory pension, health cash plan. 23 days paid holiday increasing with service.
