£18,000 per annum
Peritus Healthcare are pleased to consider applications for the position of Out of Hours Coordinator in Cambridge.
Our client provides high quality care in the home, to clients with a range of healthcare needs.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the provision of domiciliary care services out of hours.
You will respond appropriately to calls from clients and staff ensuring an efficient and effective domiciliary care service is provided in accordance with care plans and national care standards.
Reschedule service users and staff rotas, ensuring clients receive a service even if their scheduled Domiciliary Care Assistant is unable to work on a given day
Ensure service users are notified if designated carer is running late, if carer is not able to reach service user within 30 minutes of their allocated call time another care worker is to be sourced to cover call. Service user is to be notified at all times.
Reschedule staff efficiently and effectively in order to maximise service user contact time with available staff resources
Provide support and consultation to Domiciliary Care Assistants over the telephone or face-to-face ensuring the welfare of staff and service users
Liaise with the Registered Manager and monitor situations and make judgements involving vulnerable people over the telephone
Record and update information accurately, passing it to the Registered Manager and Operations Manager via a handover at the end of each shift
Assist the Registered Managers to monitor the quality of the performance of staff
Receive initial problems and resolve service user and staff issues wherever possible informally
Liaise with health colleagues, carers, out of hours care managers, GPs, independent providers and voluntary bodies to ensure an effective network of support for service users until full assessment of needs can take place
Assist in the induction of Domiciliary Care Assistants, demonstrating own duties to new starters.
To provide out of hours support in accordance with Shift Rota distributed by the Registered Manager.
Experience of working in a Domiciliary company in a similar role
Ability to manage conflicting demands and competing priorities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. In particular, an excellent phone manner
A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
Strong administrative and organisational skills
