Aim of Position:

The main aim of this role is to take day-to-day responsibility for the pre-event ordering, deployment, testing and operation of the Events IT systems and infrastructure and to take the lead in the management and development of team members to fulfil this function.

The Role:

  • Day to day management and development of events IT team
  • To be accountable for the Events IT function including internet, WIFI, Networks, Cabling, Telephony, Digital Signage, and some Audio-Visual Systems
  • To assist in the development of information systems from an Events delivery perspective, making recommendations to the Head of IT on areas for future development and potential revenue generating ideas
  • To manage future workload ensuring appropriate resources, including staff and equipment are available to meet demand
  • To establish and operate KPI’s to monitor and improve departmental performance in all aspects of service delivery. Including pre-event and onsite customer service, response targets and problem resolution timescales
  • To ensure timely and thorough testing and routine maintenance of Events IT infrastructure and systems to ensure certainty of delivery
  • To ensure all Event IT assets are appropriately logged, tagged and safeguarded at all times
  • To assist and support the Venue IT Team as required

The Person:

  • A degree in computing / information systems or equivalent
  • An active interest in leading edge applications of technology
  • Excellent MS Office based skills
  • Ability to effectively manage a team
  • A minimum of two years’ experience in a computer services role
  • Attention to detail and high personal standards
  • Experience in a customer service environment
  • A flexible and can do attitude
  • An approachable and confident appearance
  • A hands-on pragmatic approach to problem solving
  • An ability to keep a sense of perspective and reprioritise under pressure
  • Telephony experience
  • Ability to deliver to tight deadlines and take ownership for end delivery
  • Practical experience with networking
