An exciting opportunity for a Senior Scientist with experience of Biochemical Assay Development has become available to join a leading Biotechnology in the Cambridgeshire area in their Drug Discovery team. As the Senior Scientist - Assay Development you will be responsible for the develop of biochemical and biological assays for the characterisation of antibodies with a focus on non-malignant Haematology disorders.


Your duties as the Senior Scientist - Biochemical Assay Development will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. Provide innovative solutions to enable the most meaningful selection and characterisation of lead molecules based on biological insight and understanding.

2. Conception, development, qualification and execution of biochemical or biological assays that enable the discovery of antibody drug candidate.

3. Support reagent generation and molecular biology for all projects in the portfolio as required.


To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Senior Scientist - Assays Development we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. Relevant PhD in a Life Sciences discipline (e.g. Immunology, Molecular Biology, Haematology etc.) in addition to post doctoral experience either in industry or academia, ideally in a drug discovery environment.

2. Proven industry experience in assay development and qualification of assays including but not limited to Binding Assays (Receptor Ligand and Cell binding), Reporter Gene assays and Flow Cytometry.

3. A working knowledge and practical experience with the Drug Discovery process is vital while an in depth understanding of non-malignant blood disorders is desirable.
