Cognos BI Developer

A Cognos BI Developer is required to work on an eight month contract, with the possibility of extension for our Defence client based in Preston.

This is an 8 month contract with a leading UK Defence business.

Overview of the Cognos BI Developer contract role

Following the Software Development Lifecycle to:

  • Work with stakeholders at all levels to elicit and manage BI requirements.
  • Identify data and master data requirements
  • Design and develop solutions in Cognos Analytics (Cognos B1 V11) and Framework Manager
  • Ensure testing is planned and conducted throughout the lifecycle
  • Produce documentation including detailed design, test, user guides.

Key skills required for the Cognos BI Developer

The individual should be an accomplished Cognos BI developer who has excellent communications skills and enjoys working with the business they support, gathering requirements and maintaining strong relationships across the full project lifecycle. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite of applications.

The role is based in Preston, Lancashire - commutable from Blackpool, Lancaster, Morecambe, Chorley, Leyland, Blackburn, Darwen, Burnley, Skipton, Stockport, Manchester, Warrington, Wigan, Bolton, Bury, Rochdale and Oldham with excellent access from Liverpool and Leeds
