Data Governance Manager

Leeds Building Society is looking for a Data Governance Manager to join our Data Governance department, based at our Head Office in the heart of Leeds city centre.


About the role

Reporting in to the Head of BI & Data, you will be responsible for managing operational activities supporting the Data Governance operating model across the Society to ensure a high level of Data Governance.

Key accountabilities

• Manage the Society Data Governance operating model supporting the objective to ensure data is accurate, complete and appropriate for all data stakeholders across the society.
• Maintain and develop data quality monitoring dashboards, provide consultancy with business areas for data quality requirements.
• Support Data Strategy development and ongoing maintenance.
• Oversee and own the development of business data standards ensuring they are accurate, and clearly measurable with business rules.
• Manage the development/maintenance of the business data glossary ensuring it is accurate with relevant business definitions.
• Own the Data Issue Management Process (DIMP) and ensure triage activities are completed within SLA.

Essential Skills and Experience

• Experience of Data Governance/Quality initiatives/environments
• Experience in Master Data Management initiatives
• An understanding and experience of processes, standards and policies related to data governance
• An understanding of data management and the use of data
• An understanding of methodologies used in data architecture and systems development

Desirable Skills and Experience

• Educated to Degree standard or higher desirable
• Experience/Knowledge of the financial services industry preferred
• Advanced SQL skills desirable
• Project management skills
