We are looking for a talented Avionic System Engineer to join our UK team based at our Yeovil site in the South West of England. As Avionic System Engineer you will provide in-depth technical subject expertise for technical activities across EH101 Merlin and AW101 International System Engineering projects.

Your main activities will include the following:

• Working with Customers to evaluate and agree Operational and Capability Requirements.
• Document the Customer's requirements in the form of specifications, Technical SOWs and programmes, for the Electrical and Avionic Systems aspects.
• Working with Suppliers and Leonardo Helicopters core sub-system providers to define system requirements and system solutions.
• Working with Suppliers to maximise the benefits of already certified and qualified Commercial and Military Off-The-Shelf systems.
• Define the required test facilities to support the Test requirements.
• Prepare test procedures, perform testing and prepare test reports.


• A degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or similar.
• Some experience in a relevant Aerospace role.
• An in-depth knowledge of Avionic Systems and System Integration.
• An in-depth knowledge of the System Engineering life-cycle.
• An in-depth understanding of Systems Safety in the Aerospace environment.
• A broad experience of helicopter engineering and operation.
• Experience of working at a detailed level with Suppliers and Customers.
• Able to communicate clearly with staff at all levels.
• Able to communicate clearly with Customer representatives.
• Experience of Industry standard interface protocols, including MIL-STD-1553B, ARINC 429, Ethernet/AFDX, RS 422/232.
• Experience of Industry standard Environmental Certification and Qualification standards.
• A good working knowledge of DOORS for Requirements and Test Case management.
• A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, particularly; Word, Excel and Powerpoint
• Experience of working in an Engineering team environment.
