We're looking for a Maintenance Engineer, based in Sudbury, Suffolk. You'll be rewarded with an attractive package, holiday and pension.
In our Sudbury factory the 200 strong workforce produce some of the UK's most popular household brands, providing consumers with a product to meet customer's every need. This ancient, bustling market town is located in the heart of the Stour valley and is surrounded by countryside of outstanding natural beauty plus, the added advantage of London being a 45 minute train ride away from nearby Colchester.
Manufacturing at my client's site, is all about ensuring the consumer receives a perfect quality product, at the right time and place whilst driving losses from the business in order to maximise efficiency & productivity.
This is particularly critical as they continue their journey towards being a LEAN Enterprise. This is the biggest change in the way they work..
We're looking for someone to support the factory Engineering department providing service to the Production departments' process and packaging equipment and fostering a cross departmental culture of safety, quality and teamwork.
You'll be working with other maintenance engineers performing preventative maintenance tasks, attending and fault finding breakdowns, performing inspections and repair work, ensuring and reporting that all assets perform to the required level of safety , quality and efficiency.
The factory is moving forward with continuous improvement principles covering TPM so it's an exciting time to be involved, and it is expected that you will play a key part in the move from reactive to proactive maintenance.
- Strong electrical and mechanical engineering skills with lots of initiative and attention to detail and be someone who takes pride and responsibility in what you do.Educated in an Engineering based subject and be a time served apprentice trained.17 th Edition wiring regulations qualification, experience with Allen Bradley PLCs and understand instrument /control fundamentals.Mechanically you will be able to demonstrate skills working on process and packing equipment, pneumatics, hydraulics, gearboxes and bearing replacement.Experience of modern manufacturing techniques such as 5S, LEAN and TPM would be ideal.You'll be a person who will be able to come in and hit the ground running
