Purpose of Role:

We’re looking for a motivated, pro-active and inspirational Engineering Operations Manager to join our Network Services Delivery Team, to support our internal Network Engineering functions. They should bring innovation, and inspire their colleagues in our journey to build a new network Service Delivery team offering.

The demands on the team are increasing due to new customers, more complex solutions and higher customer expectations. We are looking to restructure our current Service Delivery team, and so appoint a seasoned operations manager, who can provide both network technology expertise, but also mentor colleagues into delivering a service that makes us the partner of choice with our existing and potential customer base.

The Role

This is a combined technical and managerial role, to lead a team of Network Engineers with a diverse range of skills and experience, ideally CCNA to CCIE qualified. There will be a need for a hands-on approach in the beginning, as you redefine our own network infrastructure, moving forward you will be responsible for building the team to allow you to move in to a more service delivery management role.

You will be fully accountable for the monitoring and analysis of our internal network & IT systems, forming a strategy to account for the rising accounts that the company are acquiring and the masses of traffic that is accumulated on a daily basis. You will also need to remain hands-on for some time whilst building this team and be able to jump into "hands-on mode" where needs must, typical when Incidents are escalated from the NOC team.

Duties & Responsibilities:

·Support the Head of Service Delivery to maintain SLA’s & KPI’s to a growing customer base, this includes ensuring OLA’s are met, as part of this process.

·Ensure efficient use of engineering resources.

·Work with Operations and customers to ensure high quality and on- time delivery of Incidents escalated to Engineering from the NOC

·Provide technical advice & regulation compliance to new solution

·Drive development plans for all engineers

·Ensuring delivery of customer projects

·Deal with team administration

·Develop & refine processes for the day to day running of the team

·Making sure all systems are documented and documentation is up to date

·Ensuring network monitoring tools are configured to utilised all available information & alerting features

·Maintain processes & procedures, review security policies & ensuring compliance to enable ISO29001

·Actively participate in the Change Advisory Board, and advise on changes within the company

·Lead Network projects, manage resources effectively and report into the Head of Service Delivery on any issues which require escalation, as per Escalation Management process.

·Proactively identify improvements both internally & with 3rd party suppliers to enhance service provision

Key Skills and Competencies

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

·Experience of managing people

·Excellent man management skills

·Strong communication skills

·Must have good self-discipline, including a willingness to observe technical standards and a commitment to produce effective documentation.

·Works well under pressure and takes initiative

·Methodical approach to planning and completing work to strict deadlines.

·Awareness and understanding of ITIL & Prince2 methodologies

?xperience & Qualifications Required:

·Network Engineering background – ideally CCNP level

·Experience managing a NOC environment.

·An understanding of AutoTask and LogicMonitor, whilst not essential, would be a distinct advantage

·Whilst not essential, an experience with SDN, NFV, SD-WAN, Storage, WAN Acceleration, Load Balancing and Network Automation.

·Strong networking understanding and a basic level of knowledge with routing, switching and firewall management.

It would also be beneficial to have knowledge of the below but this is not a necessary requirement for the role;

·Knowledge of ITIL best practices, (ideally ITIL Foundation qualified)

·Knowledge of ISO9001, ISO27001 and SOC2

·Experience of working on large global environments

·Experience working with mission critical services
