We are looking for a support technician to assist in providing phone and email support to our base of EPOS customers. The role involves diagnosing and solving customer problems, as well as performing some technical administrative tasks on customer accounts, such as configuring EPOS software settings.

In-depth training on the EPOS software will be provided, as well as information about the most common customer queries and their resolutions. Excellent communication skills are essential. No commercial experience is necessary, but the applicant should have a general background in IT and some experience in working with customers.

Working times are fairly flexible and can be negotiated. Availability generally needed during typical business hours, but will occasionally need to be on call to cover evening shifts (always agreed with you in advance, and can be worked from home so long as you're reachable by phone).

Call volumes are very low, so having the skills to fill unused time with other support-based tasks will be a big plus; such tasks could include writing documentation and tutorials for the software, testing for and recording software bugs, and other customer care.

This position is advertised as part time due to the low support load, but can be scaled up to full time, and potentially even to a shareholding position if the applicant has other relevant skills such as those described above and is keen to be involved with a growing software company.
