R & D Engineer – GEA Process Engineering


GEA Process Engineering, is a dynamic, technologically advanced and multinational organization, focused on the development, design and manufacturing of complex process equipment for the production of pharmaceutical oral solid dosage (OSD) forms

The R&D Engineer is part of our R&D team Pharma Solids and will be working from our offices in Eastleigh United Kingdom.

The Role;

  • As part of the R&D team you will contribute to the realization of our technology roadmap from initial concept to finished product.
  • You will define functional requirements, develop concepts, perform calculations and simulations and generate detailed designs.
  • You will work closely with our process technologists, application developers and controls/instrumentation specialists to ensure that all requirements are suitably translated in to your designs
  • You will support manufacturing, quality and assembly teams during the built-phase of the prototypes
  • You will involve yourselves hands-on in testing proof-of-concept and 0-series in our test center
  • As and when required you will be involved in the interaction with our customers and other International Technology Centers in the GEA group
Our Requirements;

  • You hold a MSc in electro-mechanical engineering or equivalent through experience
  • You gained minimal 5 years’ experience in development and design of high quality equipment with challenging process requirements
  • You are creative, quality driven and passionate about equipment design. You have a strong developed conceptual approach but also understand ‘the devil in the detail’.
  • You have good knowledge of 2D and 3D design tools and general engineering SW packages
  • Although you are able to work independently and take initiative to resolve problems, you are a real team player and value peer-feedback
  • You are prepared to travel occasionally
  • You are fluent (R/W/S) in English
  • You have a strong safety awareness and show good environmental discipline on a day-to-day base
