Lean Manufacturing Continuous Improvement Project Engineer Rugby
Our client is a large engineering company based in Rugby, Warwickshire - part of a worldwide group
They are looking for a Continuous Improvement Engineer.
Salary circa £40K
This is a key position in the company dealing with projects using Lean Management techniques and cost reduction.
They want the successful candidate to drive process improvement, cost reductions and improving the overall customer experience to clients within the automotive, aerospace and various other industries.
This will be •Identifying and achieving SMART objectives within the business.•Develop and manage KPI’s•Lead financial projects to reduce costs and drive profitability and growth.•Work with purchasing to establish procurement requirements, quotes / bids delivering for each project.•Submit reports reflecting project financials, expenditures, new opportunities, •Support the development and deployment of the Lean manufacturing practices •Initiate & deliver a Lean culture, including 5S, waste identification and elimination•Set clear objectives, monitors process, progress and results. •Have good planning skills to accurately scope the length and difficulty of tasks and projects•Sets objectives and goals, breaking down tasks into the process steps develop schedules and task/people assignments. Anticipate roadblocks, measures performance against goals; evaluates results. •Are results driven.•Have good negotiation skills with internal and external groups. •Good at establishing clear directions, setting objectives, distributing workload and laying out work in a well-planned and organised manner. •Have ambition – someone who has the inspiration to believe the business can become more than it is today.
Our client is looking for someone with at least 3 - 5 years of industrial experience working within a similar position
They are looking for someone degree qualified in Operations / Engineering / Material Science or a related field and have an excellent understanding of Excel /PowerPoint and Project management software
Lean manufacturing / Continuous Improvement experience in an engineering environment is essential
Proven formal lean and or Six Sigma training is required.
The candidate will need to have strategic business acumen with good financial project and planning ability
If you can speak German it would be an advantage!
There will be occasional travel requirements
