We have an exciting opportunity for an Application Support Analyst to join our cutting-edge IT team.

As an Application Support Analyst, you will ensure that all customer facing or internal applications are operational, resolve incidents and restore normal service as quickly and effectively as possible. Coordinate the resolution of problems through to release of urgent code fixes when needed.

Key Responsibilities

Break Fix

  • Providing application support for customer-facing or internal applications
  • Trouble-ticketing and resolving problems highlighted by application users
  • Undertaking break-fix development activities to resolve operational issues with application performance
  • Service level tracking
  • SQL and NoSQL scripting of bespoke client requests
Knowledge and Experience required

    Experience of working in a structured Application Support environment. A successful track record in an application support role, with a proven expertise in troubleshooting issues. SQL, NoSQL (Couchbase); Graph Database (desirable) Development of .Net, C#, Web development, JavaScript, jQuery (desirable)Technical troubleshooting to code level for root cause of issuesExperience of using Code Source Control (example TFS)Understanding and experience of Office 365 and API’s`ITIL or equivalent application support model (desirable)
Service Development

  • Engaging with Developers to understand the design and business requirements and to ensure that Application Support have a documented and updated knowledge base for each implementation
  • Liaising with QA Test team to ensure Application Support testing has been conducted and development passes testing requirements
  • When appropriate, engages and coordinates other teams to assist in resolution and escalates to line manager in a timely manor
  • Building good working relationships within the IT department and the business community
  • Receiving new application developments and enhancements into production environment through the service transition process
  • Building/Supporting new or enhanced applications on to the production environment
  • Undertaking service acceptance for new and enhanced applications
  • Trend analysis and proactive issue avoidance
Qualifications Required

    IT degree or equivalent experience Training and successful completion of relevant courses
