Job Title: Unit Manager - RGN / RMN / RNLDLocation: BirminghamSalary: £33,500 (£17.17 after probation period) Annual IncrementsContract: Permanent, Full time Contract.Service user groups: 18 - Learning Disabilities, Neuro - Rehab, Eating Disorders, Mental Health Conditions. Split across three units.If you are a passionate nurse with an interest or experience within in complex care, this role is ideal for you. As a Unit Manager, you will be providing clinical and managerial support to the senior management within the site, as well as providing outstanding care in more of a clinical aspect. In this varied, exciting position, you will be working hands on with service users with a wide range of care needs, including neurological rehab, enduring mental health and profound learning disabilities. The role is a brilliant step forward for an experienced nurse who is looking to take steps into management.The Facility has an excellent reputation in the area. They have strong links with local services and GPs, primary care services and specialised services including Neuropsychiatry and Specialised Pain Services as well as the Huntington's disease Association.We recognise that being a nurse is at the heart of what you do - so you'll be able to keep your skills and experience up to date but, as a Unit Nurse Manager RGN RMN RNLD, you'll also have the opportunity to use and develop your management abilities.Your duties will be varied, working to ensure high clinical standards are delivered and that your staff team is support to achieve their potential, duties include:- The Unit Managers play a key part in the daily running of the home, working closely with the Home Manager, ensuring that the home runs effectively and efficiently and that the care provided is of the highest quality. There will, of course, be times when you have to roll up your sleeves and deliver hands-on nursing and personal care but that's the nature of the job, and it keeps your skills up to date.- Working with the MDT to ensure that care provided is appropriate and relevant to the individual's care package- Participating in pre-admission assessments, assessing client care requirements- Provide safe and effective processes for the ordering, handling, storage, administration, recording and disposal of drugs- Formulation and review of support plans- Positively promote the home- Participate in an on-call system to support the nurse in charge- Participate in recruitment and supervision of staff- Promoting choice, independence, dignity and respect- You should hold nursing qualification (RGN/RMN/RNLD) and have a current PIN.There are fantastic opportunities for development and progression - one of the Operations Managers started their career as a newly qualified nurse, and moved through the ranks of Unit Manager, Clinical Nurse/Deputy Manager, Home Manager - all in the space of 11 years.
