This is an established, prominent and highly reputed manufacturing plant which continues to benefit from significant investment in the most advanced production technologies and is an acknowledged flagship location within its international group. Producing a precision product with the highest levels of quality and incorporating advanced manufacturing processes the manufacturing operations are a model of truly embedded Lean practice coupled with a Continuous Improvement culture which underwrites the ongoing success of the business.

A new Plant Director is now required to take over from a career incumbent and lead the operation into a new phase of development, leading a team of some 500 skilled and committed manufacturing personnel. Reporting directly to the Managing Director of European Automotive Operations for this international group, and leading a senior team of ten departmental managers responsibility on a cost centre basis, is for the entire site operation and the long term management and sustainability of the activity within Group goals in terms of efficiency and health & safety, and customer quality and performance targets.

Candidates will be accomplished world-class trained manufacturing professionals with leadership experience at plant level within the international automotive components supply chain sector. You will be degree qualified in an engineering discipline and ideally have an MBA with additional professional development oriented towards world class manufacturing and will have had significant career experience within operations that have a lean manufacturing ethos and operating culture. Whilst having evident leadership qualities you will also have a highly participative style and refined coaching skills that develop, motivate and enthuse your team to produce excellence and to build in quality at all stages. This is a long term position for a long term player who will be expected to contribute immediately at corporate level and who will bring the best of their background to grow the standing of this plant, its products and its future.
