Keywords: Java Developer, Java Software Engineer, Java 7, Java 8, RESTful Webservices, JavaScript, Jersey, Spring framework, Agile, Git, Maven.

Java Developer (multiple; "mid" to "Senior") sought by UK Software Company to join the existing Java Development team of circa 20. Modern & very nice offices in the London suburbs, with a strong blend of age levels, personalities & nationalities; we are looking for “junior” to “senior” level individuals who value clean, well-structured & maintainable code.

This is a highly Agile environment (Development Director heads up & runs local Agile meet-ups + advises on Agile) so we are keen to see collaborative, communicative & “not afraid to give us your ideas” people who will work closely with the product team too on new feature development & story hand overs. 2 week sprints, Agile pods & teams, daily stand-ups & collaborative work tools are the norm.

In general, you would be……

- Developing new features in the software suite. Delivering the features on schedule.

- Coding high quality, highly maintainable, efficient Java code which adheres to Company coding standards.

- Writing comprehensive unit and integration tests for all new code written.

- Working effectively within an Agile/Scrum Environment. This means you will be willing and able to discuss requirements with Product Management, hand over stories to QA and present new features at sprint reviews.

- Conduct code reviews with peers.

- Working on personal coding projects that you find interesting & that we may be able to apply to the platform.

What we’re looking for (mostly – this is pretty fluid):

- Java 1.7/1.8

- Spring Framework

- RESTful web services

- Experience in one or more Unit testing frameworks, e.g. JMock

- Agile / Scrum or other Agile practice methodology experience in a commercial environment.

Advantageous skills/experience:

- Javascript

- Additional OOP experience (any language)

- Git / Bitbucket

Please pop me over your CV &/or give me a call to discuss.
