Senior Shift LeaderFull TimeDevonSalary up to £29,000Our client has an exciting opportunity for an experienced RGN to take the next step in their career and join the dedicated team in the private hospital located in Devon. This hospital offers an offers high quality elective surgery for the local populations of Devon and Cornwall, specialising in hip and knee joint replacements, shoulder repair, hand and elbow surgery, foot surgery and minor orthopaedic procedures. This hospital also deliver Ophthalmology and General surgery. You will also be able to benefit from the fully supported training programmes, on site café and free parking.Responsible ToWard ManagerKey ResponsibilitiesAs the senior shift leader on the ward, you will act as clinical lead for all registered nurses on the ward, supporting and working with the ward manager.Key duties will include: - Ensuring staff are assessed and found competent in all clinical practices, particularly including the mentorship of new, student and junior staff- Providing clear and consistent communication to the multidisciplinary team, achieving and maintaining high morale based on sound organisation- Formulation and delivering a collaborative programme of patient care which is clinically effective, evidence based and appropriate- Attending monthly quality governance meetings, head of department's (HoD's) monthly and weekly communication and scheduling meetings; in the absence of the ward managerSkills & ExperienceTo be successful in this role you will have:- Extensive post registration surgical experience in a variety of surgical specialities- The ability to manage a team and plan their work effectively- The ability to teach/train nursing staffQualifications- NMC Registered Nurse Part 1- A qualification in teaching and assessment- Immediate Life support (ILS)For more information and or to apply please call Jenna O'Rourke on 01489 774208 and or email jenna.orourke@appointgroup.co.uk
