Senior Water Infrastructure Engineer
Main duties and responsibilities of the job Your main duties for this post are to provide the support to the management team in the day to day running of separate project teams as well as liaising directly with clients in order to manage their expectations for project outcomes. Working as part of a team you will provide responsive customer focus to service to clients and specific duties will include:- • Technical and project management (including financial management) of studies and designs; working to agreed budge and timescales. • Interfacing with clients on project and business development issues; including progress meetings etc. • Mentoring of junior staff. • Completing project checks and reviews. • Preparation of bid documents and estimates. • Supervision of project teams and supporting the management in resource planning and timesheet management. • Contributing towards technical innovation and improvement. • Assessing project and business risks. • Communicating effectively internally and with clients. • Maintain knowledge of all relevant legislation and specification requirements around issues such as building permits, environmental regulations, water and drainage design, CDM and health and safety aspects of projects. Necessary skills, qualifications and experience • Degree in Civil Engineering. • Chartered or approaching Chartership status • Experience in water and drainage design. • Sewer network modelling using InfoWorks CS/ICM + Infonet. • Understanding of UK Water Industry and regulatory issues. • Capable of mentoring and leading a small modelling team. • Experience in project management and working with accredited quality management systems. • Experience in client management and building strong working relationships.
