Position - Remote Support Engineer

Location - Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire

Salary - £30,000 - £36,000 depending on skills and experience

We have a Remote Support Engineer vacancy located at our site around the Bedfordshire/Hertfordshire area. You will provide remote support for customers and engineers using CNC Machine Tools predominantly Punch and Press Brake. Remote Support Engineer will diagnose and solve electronic, hydraulic and software faults with CNC punches and press brakes over the telephone and remote diagnostics:

Your duties will include:

  • Spare part clarification
  • Manage and plan service activities in the field
  • Support with retrofits and machine upgrades
  • Communication with internal and external customers regarding dates, missions and follow up of problems and issues that have occurred
  • Documentation of service activities

The ideal candidate:

  • Experience with servicing CNC sheet metal working machine tools (not just maintenance)
  • Preferably CNC Punch and Press Brake knowledge / experience / qualifications
  • Ideally have an electrical / electronics qualification or to have completed an apprenticeship in electromechanical engineering
  • Experienced in bus systems e.g. ASI, Profibus, ProfiNet, CAN preferred not essential
  • Experienced in servo drives - Bosch and Siemens
  • Capable of working to close mechanical tolerances
  • The holder of a full clean UK driving license
