Summary of Main Tasks·To provide software support in respect of all software used within RFL be it remote or on site.·Record and report software support issues using the software support logging facility.·Process software change/feature requests.·Conduct software development project work.·Ensure consistent quality in all software releases.·Conduct software testing.·Work to project specifications, plans and timeframes.·Undertake software fault analysis and conduct corrective actions accordingly.·Attend meetings and software project reviews with company managers and directors.·To promote new technologies where they may be of benefit to company operations and procedures.·Liaise where needed with external third parties to achieve development goals.·Be available on call for emergency software bug fixing.·To conduct any additional tasks as directed by the RFL IT Director.Note: This Job Description is not a definitive or exhaustive list and tasks may develop and change over time
Previous work experience
Experience working in a successful software development team.
Proven track record with successful projects
Software development experience
High level of familiarity with SQL Server and query construction.
Development lifecycles and quality standards.
Web application development.
Web service development.
Experience with .Net software development.
Conversant with relational databases.
Sound understanding of the DPA and encryption technologies.
Version Control Systems e.g. Git, Subversion, etc.
BSc in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
Visual Studio (2005 onwards)
Object Oriented Design
MS SQL Server 2005/2008+
