The EDF ER Development & Construction Accounting Manager is a key role in the EDF ER Finance Team. The Manager will lead a team of 4 people and will be responsible for the financial accounting, reporting and forecasting for all the wind farms that are under development or construction and any operational offshore wind farms. The Manager will lead in providing insight, support and challenge to the EDF ER management team on the portfolio of assets the team is responsible for. Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications, Experience Accounting qualification (ACA/ CIMA/ ACCA). Several years’ experience working in industry. Strong people management skills Able to plan activities for a number of teams to deliver quality products to challenging deadlines Very strong knowledge of both UK tax (VAT, PAYE, Corporation tax) and the confidence to apply them to practical examples is essential Strong knowledge of accounting policies, processes and systems. Strong numerical and analytical skills, with the ability to understand the key financial implications of a scenario, all the connections between different areas of activity, and their impact on each other Able to challenge the way things are done and look at ways to make improvements to the business Proficient IT skills (Spreadsheets, database, Visual basic) Knowledge of internal systems (SAP, BOFC) Able to work effectively with a variety of stakeholders including financial and commercial teams Strong attention to detail Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to prioritise conflicting activities and be proactive Act with complete integrity and confidentiality Committed to continuous improvement and development of skills and knowledge Experience of the energy or services industry is desirable. Nature and Scope To be recognised as a point of reference and trusted source for financial information in relation to offshore operational wind farms and the wind farms under development and construction Empowered to take decisions necessary in the performance of the job purpose and key accountabilities for this role Expected to contribute to decisions related to changes in major processes or accountabilities made by the Head of Finance Liaise with specialist support and shareholder finance teams as required Principal Accountabilities The EDF ER Development & Construction Accounting Manager is responsible for the following for the wind farms under development and construction, offshore operational wind farms managed by EDF ER, the EDF ER Holding company and any dormant companies within the EDF ER group: Production, integrity and assurance of the financial ledgers, particularly capex expenditure accruals, fixed asset accounting. This will involve Work with the technical accounting teams to apply appropriate capitalisation policies Delivery of monthly and quarterly reporting, formal forecasts, medium-term plans and investment surveys. Accountable for the calculation, process and articulation of the key messages behind the financial performance outcome Providing pertinent analysis to support the production of management information to facilitate the EDF ER Management team's understanding of the performance of the development and construction portfolio and aid decision-making. Where the wind farms are in development and construction, maintain the appropriate trackers and ensure consistency with the financial reporting systems Liaise with the Investor Relations Manager to set up new shareholder loan facilities Challenging the teams in EDF ER on the assumptions driving the financial forecasts. Representing EDF ER Finance in key meetings with other departments (such as Investment & Analysis, Development, Construction and Offshore) Being the lead point of contact for queries on spend for wind farms being developed and the financial performance of the offshore operational wind farms assets. Being the lead point of contact for queries on the EDF ER company. This will involve specific calculations and accounting treatments for intercompany charges and eliminations and FTE and payroll tracking Managing the provision of external and internal audit requirements to quality and time. Leading and initiating improvements to reporting and reporting processes to achieve an efficient and effective reporting process.
