An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Electrically trained candidate who is either leaving, or who has recently left, the Armed Forces to join an established business.

Job Title - Maintenance Engineer – electrical bias

Shifts – Monday-Friday Rotating week on week - 6am-2pm 8am-4pm 2pm-10pm 4pm-12am (8 hour shifts)

Location - Northamptonshire

Salary - £35,000 inclusive of shift allowance (OTE £37-£37k, overtime paid at 1.5x & 2.0x)

Benefits – 25 days + bank holidays, healthcare, pension

The Role

The engineer will be predominantly involved with electrical breakdowns to include swapping like for like motors 3 phase and single, sensors, proximities, safety switches, isolators and fuses.

Mechanical responsibilities include bearings, chains, shafts, gearboxes, hydraulics, pneumatic systems, belts, jigs and rollers.

A good level PLC experience is required for general fault finding, checking inputs and outputs.

The process will include conveyors, shuttle systems, carton erectors, shoe shutter, boom conveyors, strappers and wrappers.

You will work within a small team of engineers and will need to be a team player with a can-do attitude.

The Candidate

To be successful in your application you must have the following skills, abilities or qualifications:

  • Must have a recognised electrical qualification (apprenticeship, NVQ level 2, BTEC, ONC, C&G, HNC, HND).
  • Experience of working within a FMCG or Automated environment. Alternatively, you could be from the Navy, Army or RAF with an appropriate engineering qualification.
  • A positive can-do attitude.
