On our Fleet management programme, you’ll help manage and maintain – at 45,000 vehicles – one of the UK’s largest fleets. In just two-years, you’ll get to grips with a fast-changing business, learn how to lead teams and take the first steps towards an exciting career at one of the UK’s most trusted and recognised companies.

About the programme >

During the two-year programme, you’ll gain a unique insight into how we maintain and procure vehicles and strategically plan our operations. You’ll complete up to three placements in our commercial, technical and fleet services teams, learning the ropes and enjoying responsibility from day one. Whether it’s lorries or vans, you’ll see that our vehicles are well maintained at our 95 vehicle workshops nationwide. You’ll also learn to how to handle the many different areas that rely on fleet management within the organisation, as well as commercial suppliers.

Every step of the way, Royal Mail will be by your side, with our experienced managers working with you to set and help you reach performance goals – assigning you a buddy, mentor and HR lead to make sure you have a strong support network to rely on. And, when you complete the scheme, we’ll work together to decide whether you’re ready to move into a more challenging role within the business.

What we’re looking for >

The Royal Mail fleet is a critical part of the Royal Mail Group. We’re looking for confident individuals with the interpersonal and leadership skills needed to keep our fleet delivering to every corner of the United Kingdom and 29 million addresses. To join the programme you’ll need a 2:2 degree or equivalent in any subject, however business or logistical degrees would be advantageous.

The programme is based in Chesterfield and we offer some financial support with initial moving costs and time off to move (if needed) as part of our relocation policy. You will need the right to work full time in the UK.

*Location pay dependent on placement location (Regions£900 to £1.7k if applicable, outer London £2.9k, central London £4.6k)

**Performance-related bonus for on target performance is 10% of salary and up to 20% if both company and personal stretch targets are met.
