My client is a leading Automation and Controls distributor, supplying some of the worlds largest names in Industrial automation. Due to a successful period of growth for the business, they are now looking to recruit a Field Sales engineer to join them at the company offices in Stockport.

They are looking for a talented and enthusiastic individual, located to comfortably cover the North Manchester territory, that has experience working within a sales role in either Industrial automation or process technology. You will need strong knowledge and experience of developing leads and business in industrial automated parts and components (ie drives, sensors, PLCs, I/O terminals etc) and be comfortable discussing these products in a customer facing environment. You will be confident talking to clients regarding their requirements in these areas and in making recommendations to customers to provide a full, bespoke solution.

The role will be field based Monday to Thursday and you will be office based at the Stockport branch on a Friday to attend sales meetings, take part in training, map out call plans and complete any administrative requirements you have.

Responsibilities include:

Drawing on a comprehensive technical knowledge in order to develop customer solutions and generate new business within industrial automation parts and components.
Lead generation and follow up
Assist in the generation of accurate and competitive sales quotations to meet the customers' requirements.
Work efficiently and independently to accomplish company sales objectives.
Continue to study technical and product-related material in an effort to keep up-to-date with the latest technology.
Help to build close relations with customers and suppliers.

Skill requirements include:

HNC/HND electrical/electronic qualification or similar
A comprehensive knowledge of the Industrial Automation and Control industry and associated components and products.
Excellent communication & organisational skills
Results driven and customer focused
Good IT skills are essential.
Team player & Self starter.

In return, my client offers a generous salary of £40,000 - £45,000 plus company car, pension , healthcare and 23 days holiday plus all bank holidays. The company also offers regular product training to continue to enhance your knowledge in the market.
