My client is recruiting for a PC Software Engineer to join their growing team. This is not a business IT job and the successful candidate will have to demonstrate a track record of interfacing to instrumentation in a production environment. The company develop sophisticated PC Software Applications to configure, calibrate and test this equipment, both in the factory and by customers.

Primary Job Function

Defining, developing and maintaining PC software applications for new and existing products, using Visual Basic and C#. The job involves contributing to all stages of the product lifecycle from inception, through design and test to supporting products in production.

Responsibilities
*Working closely with other engineers and project managers to define and specify new PC Software Applications.
*Design and development of PC software applications suitable for international markets.
*Supporting existing PC software applications.
*Ensuring PC applications are of the highest quality by defining and executing a rigorous test regime.
*Maintenance and upgrade of documentation for new releases.
*Supporting the transfer of new products into production.
Previous Experience
*2 to 3 years of experience of Windows application development using VB.net in Visual Studio 2015.
*Experience of developing PC applications that communicate with external hardware in real time.
*Ability to demonstrate a track record of delivering successful products on time.
Essential Skills
*Self-starting and hard working.
*Customer focused and ensuring delivered products exceed customer expectations.
*Strong problem solving and communication skills and the ability to relate to others in a multi-disciplinary team.
*Reasonable knowledge of object oriented design techniques and the ability to work to and develop best practice coding standards.
*Sound engineering judgement.
*Good understanding of what firmware is.
