An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Electrically trained candidate who is either leaving, or who has recently left, the Armed Forces to join this expanding business in the UK.

Job Title - Support Engineer

Shifts – 4 days on 4off – 4 nights on 4off (12 hour shifts)

Location - Northamptonshire

Salary - £26,500 inclusive of shift allowance (OTE £43k-£45k, paid at 1.5x & 2.0x on Sundays)

Benefits – 25 days + bank holidays, healthcare, pension

The Company

Our client is a world leading materials handling business who operate out of state of the art automated logistics sites. The company boasts a turnover of over £60m in the UK alone and employs 3,000 staff. They deliver 99.2% on customer orders with over 250,000 (450,000) orders per week and this achieved by their industry leading machinery.

The company are a true leader in their field, offering excellent employee benefits, fantastic training and a talented team to work alongside. The site supervisor is looking for a fit and confident engineer who is looking to establish a career within this growing company.

The Role

The engineer will be predominantly involved with mechanical breakdowns to include swapping like for like, stripping and rebuilding of bearings, chains, gearboxes, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, belts, jigs and rollers.

Electrical components include switches, sensors, proximities, multi-meter, cabinets, motors 3 phase and single.

Due to the site being only a year old the machinery is still under warranty and support is provided.

The Candidate

To be successful in your application you must have the following skills, abilities or qualifications:

  • Must have a recognised electrical qualification (apprenticeship, NVQ level 2, BTEC, ONC, C&G, HNC, HND).
  • Experience of working within a FMCG or Automated environment. Alternatively, you could be from the Navy, Army or RAF with an appropriate engineering qualification.
  • A positive can-do attitude.
