I am currently assisting a novel company within the Pharma industry who are looking to develop a more robust patient centric approach by appointing a Manager focused on Patient Advocacy. The role will work to further develop relationships with Patient Groups to ensure that patients' voice is heard within the business.


- To create and maintain appropriate patient-facing content and materials that empower and educate patient groups. Content to include corporate website, social media channels, materials used in f2f meetings and at conferences.
- To design and implement an education and empowerment programme aimed at patient advocacy groups, in targeted therapeutic areas.
- To act as point of contact for incoming enquiries from patient advocacy groups, providing compliant guidance and support as required, and to channel information appropriately within the business
- To ensure that the company's compliance framework is fit for purpose regarding patient advocacy activities
- Develop a Patient Advocacy strategy for Medicine Access with input from relevant internal stakeholders
- To establish a strategy and mechanism to engage employees on Patient Access focussed initiatives (e.g. company conferences, newsletter articles, lunch and learns)
- To manage the annual budget and cycle of corporate sponsorship renewal with advocacy groups and not-for-profit organisations, and ensure transparency of such initiatives
- To attend and present at industry events where relevant, supportive of corporate and patient access objectives
- To act as the knowledge leader and expert for patient advocacy initiatives within the business, providing a feedback loop to relevant teams as necessary


- Previous Patient Advocacy experience within a corporate environment
- A passion for all topics related to patient access to medicines, and deep understanding of the role of patient advocacy within drug development and commercialisation
- Ability to think creatively, advocate and innovate where processes do not exist
