Quality Systems Engineer

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Quality Systems Engineer based in the Banbury area. You will be working for a high profile Automotive Company. The main purpose of this role is to oversee the implementation, control and maintenance of the company quality management systems to all relevant standards.

Skills and experience:

  • Degree level & relevant experience
  • Lead auditor qualified
  • Clear grasp of quality management principles
  • ISO9001 - IATF16949
  • Awareness of Health, Safety & Environmental standards: ISO14001 & OHSAS 18001
  • Automotive core tools: PPAP, SPC, MSA, APQP, FMEA
  • Kanban/Kaizen, QOS, 5s
  • Microsoft Office
  • Problem solving techniques: 8D, 5Why, is/is not, Ishikawa, Cause & Effect
  • Managing corrective and preventative actions
  • Awareness of business and finance; report writing
  • Document control, auditing (1st and 2nd party)
  • Managing personnel
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills

Main duties of a Quality Systems Engineer:

  • Maintenance of the company Quality manual
  • Maintenance & reporting of the corrective action system
  • Fault finding & problem solving techniques
  • Customer support - e.g. questionnaire responses
  • Analysis of data & QOS trends
  • Co-ordinate 3rd party & customer 2nd party audits
  • Planning & management of the audit schedule
  • Training & presenting quality initiatives

Responsibilities of a Quality Systems Engineer:

  • Develop and maintain the existing QMS
  • Lead the transition to IATF16949
  • Develop and maintain the site QMS Internal Audit Plan
  • Carry out internal audits in line with the internal audit plan
  • Support production to proactively resolve problems
  • Maintain customer specific requirements
  • Oversee company compliance to recognised quality approval systems
  • Communicate requirements to all levels of the business
  • Produce weekly/monthly KPI's

Health, Safety & Environmental Responsibilities:

  • Comply with Health & Safety and Environmental Policies
  • Comply with the General Risk Assessments
  • Comply with the Manual Handling Risk Assessments
  • Comply with the Safe System of Work documents
  • Take appropriate actions in emergency situations

Quality Systems Engineer Benefits:
