Payroll Assistant - Accountancy firm - Blackburn city centre

Your new company
You will be joining one of the regions most established Accountancy Firms. They provide support and advice to a range of clients from many different sectors including Bookkeeping and Accounts to Audit, Tax and Payroll. They are currently seeking a Payroll Assistant to join their busy Blackburn based team.

Your new role
As a Payroll Assistant, you will be joining a busy payroll team who are responsible for providing the end to end payroll process for a range of clients whose payrolls consist of both PAYE and CIS Schemes. You will be responsible for running the payroll on a weekly, monthly, 4 weekly and annual basis for a range of clients whose staff numbers vary from individuals through to those with over 100 staff. Currently the team process the payroll of approximately 450 clients; you will manage your own portfolio of up to 90 clients and deal with all aspects of the payroll for those clients. You will also be responsible for processing starters and leavers, RTI submissions, auto-enrolment and contacting HMRC in regards to client pay runs as well as dealing with queries that arise.

What you'll need to succeed
To succeed you will possess excellent communication skills, have a proven knowledge of the entire payroll cycle and must have worked within an accountancy firm or payroll bureau previously. Ideally, you will have experience of Star Payroll software and be a good user general IT systems. You will also work well as a part of an efficient team, and be able to build relationships with clients as well as all internal departments. Applicants with experience of CIS will be looked upon favourably. You will also live locally to this Blackburn based job.

You will also receive 25 days annual leave plus 8 days bank holiday and your working hours will be Monday to Friday, 08:45 to 17:00 with an hour each day for lunch. Parking is available locally and the firm are located close to public transport links. There is a pension and the firm close between Christmas and New Year.
