Essential job functions Responsible for payroll, ensuring payroll schedules and deadlines are met. Production of periodic payroll in liaison with third party payroll providers. Assist to manage the year end process (production of P60, P11d, and PSA). Process tax and benefits, pension documents and calculate statutory and voluntary deductions when needed. Responsible for checking, processing payroll and sending payroll file to & from vendor/in-house payroll provider. Monthly reconciliation of Inland Revenue end of year requirements ensuring statutory reporting requirements are met. Provision and manipulation of month end payroll summaries to Payroll Finance. Responsible for other Payroll activities including but not only limited to: transferring data to clients, any additional payroll runs, manual deductions, making payroll adjustments, manual payment, managing cut off dates etc. Communicating with Colleagues to resolve payroll issues. Communicating with payroll provider re ad-hoc payroll issues Escalate issues and seek advice when faced with complex issues/problems Processes and Process improvement In-depth understanding of Payroll processes. Support the creation of a logical plan, realistic estimates and schedule for an activity or payroll run. Must have clear understanding of the existing matrices in the process, how they are measured and improvise the measurement system to make it more effective and transparent. Accountable for Payroll calendar and updating various team members. May provide input to the maintenance and improvement of existing work processes and systems, identifying gaps and propose continuous improvement measures which can reduce time, enhance controls and automate wherever possible. Operate in a compliant manner Ensure process controls are in place; Maintain, validate and update process documentations as applicable to ensure compliance. Responsible for supporting Payroll audits, Risk and compliance Matrix outcomes. Previous experience o The successful candidate will have previous experience of processing multiple client payroll, with a solid understanding of relevant payroll legislation including Working Time, pensions and Auto Enrolment, and statutory deductions and payments. o Experience being involved in payroll of a company employing 300+ people would also be beneficial for the role. Job specific experience and skills The candidate will enjoy, and will be capable of managing significant payroll projects (scoping, planning, delivery, closure). must be curious and seek to instil automated and digital solutions wherever appropriate. must have previous experience in using Sage Payroll 50. will have good written communication skills. will be capable of managing their own time, and be efficient in organising their day around priorities. should have experience managing multiple clients in parallel. should be proficient in MS Office.
