About the Role

The role offers an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated, highly numerate graduate to develop further in a high performance fraud and credit risk team, where they will have a pivotal role in supporting the development and profitability of a growth business. The role will involve supporting the team in all aspects of credit and fraud investigation and strategy formulation.

The candidate will also be supporting the team in areas of credit risk and would be required to be flexible with a wide variety of tasks to facilitate case and theme investigations.

The role will require the incumbent to regularly travel to the operations center at Bury St Edmunds. It would also involve liaising with the team drawing insights from case studies, highlighting gaps and training the team on credit and fraud risk aspects.

Good communication skills (written and oral) will be preferred as the role will require the candidate to liaise with stakeholders outside the credit risk team internal and external to the company.


What the role would involve?


Credit/Fraud Strategy- 40% of the job

• Assist the Team in establishing a strong credit and fraud framework.

• Monitor performance of credit and fraud controls, escalate related issues and challenge vendors to improve.

• Lead the mapping and documentation of all the existing Credit and Fraud processes.

• Conducting deep dives into default cases and themes.

• Conducting Quality Checks on the implementation of Credit and Fraud processes in the Operations Centre.

• Assisting the Analyst to deploy Credit & Fraud solutions/treatment strategy on identified issues.

• Assist in improving the fraud controls.


Reporting- 40% of the job

• Assisting the Fraud & Credit Analyst in developing the fraud reporting MIS.

• Assist in creating a fraud dashboard which provides detailed information on fraud rule performance.

• Creating automation for reports wherever required.

• Updating the team on reporting ensuring it is relevant to current strategies and working as expected.


Stakeholder Management- 10% of the job

• Liase with all business units in the company specifically Operations, U.S Risk Team and Marketing.

• Demonstrate new reporting suites to Senior Management

• Work closely with peers in marketing, compliance, IT, ops to ensure Elevate wins together


Control and Audit – 10% of the job

• Assist in mapping and documenting the existing fraud processes

• Engage in quality monitoring of credit and fraud/verifications processes in the operations center in Bury St Edmunds.

• Ensure BAU strategies are continuously audited and monitored

Special requirements- weekly trip to Bury St Edmunds


What experience, skills, qualities or qualifications are we looking for?

Skills and Qualifications

Education-

·2.1 or higher Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative subject or equivalent work experience (essential)

Experience-

• At least 1+ years of experience in a Credit/Fraud Risk unit. Experience of working in the subprime industry (desirable)

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills (essential)

• Advanced Excel knowledge (VB, Pivots, Macros, etc.) (essential)

• Excellent SAS or SQL knowledge (essential)

• Knowledge of R and igraph highly advantageous (essential)

Key Skills

• Excellent oral and written communication skills

• Ability to analyze trends and suggest solutions to challenges while maintaining the ability to see the bigger picture.

• Excellent organisational / time management skills and attention to detail are a must
