To deliver an efficient and effective administration and support service to both internal and external customers using a commercial and customer orientated approach.

Key Tasks

·Collating and transferring information into a presentable format ready for company meetings e.g. key performance indicators, service level agreements, financial info, etc.

·Support the production of management information and statistics for company financial performance

·Producing statistical and management information

·Liaising with the finance department to arrange for new projects to be created

·Producing invoices accurately and with the supporting paperwork, in a timely fashion to meet the company and client requirements

·Coordinating, maintaining and creating reports using company systems

·Coordinating site, operational audits and engagement tours

·Maintaining general upkeep of appropriate management information data and systems

·Supporting the Sterling Engineering senior leadership team to ensure that key events are diarised, and appropriate and efficient administrative support is provided

·Coordinating agendas and taking timely and accurate minutes for meetings at all levels

·Support the Commercial and Business manager in providing budgets and reforecasts

·Answering telephone calls in a professional manner and taking messages to pass to the appropriate person(s)

·Booking of accommodation and travel

·Carrying out non-technical company inductions

Skills and Competencies


·Computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Office

·Ability to deliver work in a time pressured environment

·Professional and effective communication skills, both written and verbal

·Excellent organisational and planning skills

·Ability to develop effective cross-functional relationship with all levels of the organisation and peer groups

·Numeracy skills

·Level 2 (GCSE) ‘C’ and above in English and Mathematics


·Level 3 (A Level/NVQ) business studies or administration qualification

·Computer qualifications to an intermediate or advanced level

·Minute taking qualification e.g. Pitmans

·Book keeping qualification to an intermediate level



·Administration experience at all levels

·Experience of raising invoices to clients

·Experience in a role that demonstrates excellent organisational and planning skills

·Preparing reports and presentations

·Able to understand and follow processes whilst at the same time as identifying improvements to make them more streamlined and efficient


·Experience of invoicing systems e.g. EFACS, SAP

·Basic book keeping and financial data entry

·Experience in a technical or engineering environment
