Hampton's are currently working with a leading Children's Charity who are looking for a Head of Care to manage their 13-bedded residential school provision in Hertfordshire. The role will be a 12 month fixed-term contract, starting in February 2018.The school caters for children on the autistic spectrum and offers weekly, term-time and all year boarding for pupils of the school.AccountabilityProvide the highest standard of support assisting pupils in achieving their maximum potential through the implementation of the SPELL framework.Ensure the safety, welfare and protection of the pupils in the school and take the lead responsibility for child protection throughout the school.Act as the designated child protection officer.Lead and motivate a staff team to work enthusiastically towards identifying and supporting the needs of people with autistic spectrum disorders.Formulate policies for the smooth and efficient running of residential services.Person SpecificationLevel 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare.A minimum of 2 years' experience as a manager in residential care.Understanding of a variety of different therapeutic models.Strong leadership and management skills, including the ability to delegate effectively.An ability to effectively and confidently conduct employee relations issues such as; disciplinary, grievance, performance management, supervision, appraisals etc.An ability to work both under own initiative and as part of a management team and overall team whilst maintaining professional relationship boundaries with non-management staff.Detailed understanding of Children's Act 1989, Care Standards Act 2000, Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and other relevant legislation.Salary - circa £40,000 negotiable based on experience.If you are Interested in this position or would like to have a confidential discussion to find out further details, please email your CV to or call James Moran - 01926 356 546Hampton's Resourcing prides itself on creating opportunities for Social Care Senior Managers to challenge themselves to continually develop their skills and experience.
