Undergraduates 12 month Industrial Placement
National Grid – Undergraduates 12 month Industrial Placement
A step ahead
We’re National Grid: we bring power to people. From heating up homes to keeping the lights on in hospitals, the energy we deliver makes the everyday possible. Now, you can help us, as we shape the future of millions and build the hi-tech networks of tomorrow.
A year in industry is proving more and more popular among Undergraduates – and for good reason. Our placements let you to establish a track record of impactful project work, build essential, real-world skills and make an informed choice when it comes to picking your career path. If you’re passionate, curious and driven, we’ll show you how to use those talents to the full.
What routes can I take?
Technical and Engineering
From ensuring the safe operation of the National Electricity Transmission System to balancing the nation’s gas supply with demand, working in one of our Engineering and Technical programmes is as varied as it is challenging.
As part of this vital function, you’ll test your skills on frontline projects, keeping energy flowing to our customers, reliably and efficiently. Here, your input will have immediate, real-world implications for people and places, every day.
Non-Technical and Commercial
Keeping up with energy demands is our organization’s central task. Our Operations teams oversee that effort, whether they’re constructing new tunnels and installing overhead cabling as part of Capital Delivery, or making sure the network is fit for purpose as part of Gas Transmission Owner.
Joining one of our Non-Technical and Commercial programmes means helping to design our network and future-proofing our infrastructure. Your insight will shape our plans and your passion will ensure we’re ready for anything.
Encompassing Finance, Procurement and I.T, Business Support keeps National Grid moving. Although not directly involved with the transmission of energy, your input will ensure we’re equipped and prepared for whatever the future holds.
A career in Business Support means ensuring everyone at National Grid has everything they need to get the job done effectively and efficiently, time and again.
