Job Title: Support Worker
Location: Newcastle – postcode NE23
Type of Employment: Permanent
Salary: £15,230 per annum. (£55.75 per sleep in)

Who are we?

Our company works directly with the NHS and provides complex care for adults. We are specialists in our sector for people with on the Autistic Spectrum. We are opening a Brand NEW! Service in the NE23 area. We provide outstanding care and attend to the needs of individuals with an Autism Spectrum Disorder and other related conditions. We are looking for keen individuals to join our team.

The role

As a Support Worker, you will be caring for individuals on the Autistic Spectrum. You will be ensuring that the day to day care of these superstars is provided to the highest level. You will have responsibility over care plans, assessments and reports to assist the Team Manager. You will work with key internal and external working partners such as services managers, carers, families and the local council.

What are my responsibilities?

To provide a safe, happy, friendly and encouraging working environment. Our residents do like to get out and about so we provide a daily allowance to fund trips into town and other activities.
It is your job to build trusted relationships with the individuals and work effectively alongside them in their day to day lives. Sometimes you may spend more time in the house than outside which includes domesticated duties.

Challenging behaviour can occur at times; however, you will be fully trained and have full support to de-escalate all scenarios.
We are a very close-knit team, and pride ourselves on the homely and very approachable environment we have created.

What hours will I work?

Days, night shifts, sleep ins and also the odd weekend - covering approximately 37.5 hours per week.

Qualifications and Skills

Experience in working with vulnerable adults is essential for this role and having experience of working with ‘challenging behaviour’ is preferable however is it not essential.

There are no qualifications that are needed for this role as training & qualifications are provided by the company at no cost to yourself. Your attitude is what is key here and willing to take on new challenges whilst widening your existing knowledge. Enthusiasm, energy and patience to ensure that your charges are well taken care of and have the best environment.
