Salary: £21,909 to £28,462 pa + HCAS

We are looking to recruit band 5 nurses who have excellent care values, a strong sense of team spirit and are keen to develop their skills to join their Post Anaesthetic Care Unit
They are a 10-bedded unit recovering cardiac, thoracic and invasive cardiology patients of all ages and offer a Monday to Saturday service. The team work a shift pattern which includes rotation to night shifts.
Candidates will ideally have some prior experience in critical care or recovery nursing. We require all applicants to have experience in an acute surgical setting. They will tailor the induction and training to the individual candidate and provide support for those with minimal experience of caring for sedated and mechanically ventilated patients. New staff will be fully supported through our excellent induction and mentorship programme
There are a variety of development opportunities for successful candidates, including ILS, EPLS, mentorship and critical care or recovery diploma/degree modules as well as a range of in-house study days.
Your role will involve

Responsible for planning and delivering appropriate care to patients on the ward
Ability to recognise problems early and take appropriate action
IV Cannulation, Phlebotomy
Maintain a safe environment for patients under your care
Any other ad hoc duties required by senior members of staff


To be considered for this role you would have:

Registered General Nursing Degree
NMC Registration
Experience of working within a surgical environment, ideally 1 years post grad however with the relevant experience you would still be considered
Adapt easily to a team dynamic
Attention to detail and ability to work well under pressure
Excellent communication skills
Computer literate
