Winterflood provides sellside research coverage of the London listed investment trust sector. Its research team is one of the highest rated teams in the UK. It works closely with the firm’s sales & market making teams covering the trust sector as well as its corporate team.
The research service is for the use of clients of Winterflood, which include institutional investors and wealth managers.About the role
The graduate will work closely with existing members of the investment trust team, including sales, trading and corporate and assist in the production of data and written reports.
They will attend analyst meetings and investment conferences, meeting fund managers across a range of asset classes, in order to identify investment opportunities.About the graduate
The role is suited to a graduate with a keen interest in economic trends and current affairs and understanding of the challenges facing investment managers across a range of assets classes that includes equities, bonds, infrastructure and commercial property.
The graduate will be required to develop relationships with the wider investment trust team, an understanding of the roles of the wider team and an understanding of the equity markets.
Communication is a key element of the role and the successful candidate is likely to have both strong numeracy and literacy skills. The ability to interpret data and write fluently and succinctly are crucial elements of the role. Experience with Excel, Word and Powerpoint would also be useful.
We would support the candidate to study for the CFA qualification through study leave and participation in training courses. In addition, training would be made available for other relevant skill sets, such as presenting and media interaction.
