In 2015, Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and West Middlesex University Hospital became a single Foundation Trust. We have made significant capital investments (around £10 million a year) in our hospitals over the past 10 years. During any season elderly people can be taken ill and it is often a frightening experience for them to be out of their home and a familiar environment. Both Marble Hill 1 and 2 are bright and airy and decorated in dementia friendly colours so patients can easily recognise which area of the wards they are staying in. Elderly care is a challenging but incredibly rewarding area in which to work and we are looking for friendly, compassionate nurses to join the team.Crane – Dementia ‘At some point in our lives we will inevitably need help and support from others. Recent investment has seen new flooring, bright, dementia friendly colouring for instant recognition for our patients.Kew – StrokeAt present Kew ward repatriates patients from Hyper Acute Stroke Units or from other wards within the hospital. Stroke patients come to Kew for further assessments by the wards therapists and receive inpatient rehabilitation before either being discharge to further specialist rehabilitation units or for rehab in the community, often in their own homes.As a unit we have a full multidisciplinary team consisting of Nursing staff, Stroke Specialist Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapist, Doctors, Dietician and a Psychologist. Working within such a specialist ward staff are able to enhance their skills and knowledge in stroke and understand all of the complexities around a stroke and how assessments are made. There are many wards at both our Hospitals if the area you work within has not been mentioned. At Chelsea and Westminster we are always looking for exceptional staff.
