Company Description

One of the most personable companies in the West Midlands are looking for a Home Manager to look after a 4-bedded home on the outskirts of Birmingham.

The client base at the home caters for Emotional Behavioural Disorder (EBD) and provide a loving and nurturing environment for the children in their care.

An example of how caring the environment is, the Director who runs the homes under their company umbrella runs off the ethos that he wants the children crying when they come in because they don’t want to be there, but then as they’re leaving he wants them crying because they don’t want to go. This gives you, as a Home Manager, the idea of the environment that you’d be coming into and the support to care for these clients is in the home.

The Role

As Home Manager, you’d be required to ensure that the Ofsted rating is at the very least ‘good’ and that the occupancy is 75%+ - if this is the case you’ll get a bonus.

The hours would be a minimum of 40 hours and the hours are flexible, as long as they are fulfilled. You would be required to be on call over 3 other homes, on a mainly advice basis; you get an extra rate for these on call periods, however they’re rare and only occur a handful of times per year.

You would be looking after all aspects of the home and managing the staff within the home itself, as well as helping to care for the clients.

Qualifications and Skills

To be a successful applicant for this role you’d have a minimum of a Level 3 with Management experience and working towards a Level 5 – Ideally, you’d already hold a Level 5 in Management.

The personality fit is the most important factor here, the environment is non-corporate and the Director you’d be reporting into really has the care of everyone under his charge at heart. The staff are like a family unit and genuinely you will grow such a bond with everyone who works within the organisation.

The salary you, as the successful Home Manager would be between £28,000 - £33,000 depending on experience.

You will receive bonuses on getting a minimum of a ‘Good’ Ofsted Rating and a 75%+ occupancy rate. The higher the gradings and occupancy, the higher the bonus.
