Job Title: Residential support Worker
Location: Radlett
Type of Employment: Permanent
Salary: £16,100. There is also a sleep-in allowance and extra shifts available

we are based in Radlett, Hertfordshire and have 13 children aged between 4-19 all on the autistic spectrum staying in our residential lodge during term time plus 4 weeks in the holiday periods.

The people we work with want to be supported to do the things they want to do; This role provides this support. Either by working as part of a team or on a one to one basis, the post holder supports the individual with autism to live the life they choose. This could either be in a school, a registered home, a supported living scheme, a day center or in the community.
You will be mentored, guided, and supported throughout your career. If progression is what you crave, then look no further!

Your Role.
You will assist with the assessment of individuals with autism to enable them to develop talents.
You will provide the highest level of professionalism to your team and residents.
Your role will be more of a guardian, parent figure with the children, so this will become a very personal role to you.
We encourage and support all of our staff to progress with their qualifications. Ideally, we like to place all staff members onto the level three NVQ children’s and young people’s workforce.
This is an active role, you won’t be cooped up in a home, we like to participate in new activities and adventures.
If you have any new ideas to bring to the team we would love to hear them.

Your mains duties:
You will maintain regular and up to date records and reports as directed, eg incident reports.
You will be assisting the children to lead a happy, loved and active life whilst supporting them through school.
You will be providing required support to the individual with autism which ensures the maintenance of an environment which is as safe and hygienic as possible and appropriate to their needs
You will support the individual with autism to access health services appropriate to their needs as specified in their care plan.
We would like you to be professional and maintain a happy working environment, ensuring all the children are safe and cared for.
You will always have constant support, you would never be expected to work on your own.
